Short synopsis Shamlou is a short documentary about the Iranian poet, Ahmad Shamlou, one of the most popular and prominent contemporary poets in the history of Persian literature. Due to his progressive statements opposing the oppression in Iran, Shamlou was prosecuted numerous times, his poetry was not allowed to be published and since his death his gravestone has been demolished several times by Iranian authorities. But his statements also led to his popularity among so many different generations in Iran. How could he achieve such an important place in the hearts of both intellectuals and ordinary people? |
